The world is in a strange moment right now, I have written many articles about it. One of the major problems I’m starting to notice is the difficulty of people to understand what is happening. Meaning, our sense making mechanism is under assault.
Between social media algorithms that seek to maximize attention grabbing, the incentives of our leaders to not inform us, lie and keep us in the dark, plus the active acts of misinformation executed by trolls and malevolent actors. It is really no wonder we are descending into such a state of chaos.
At the same time our economy is in disarray, governments turning more tyrannical, surveillance and censorship are on the rise. We are also seeing the proliferation of the most powerful technology ever deceived by mankind in Bitcoin.
All of this leads me to believe that society at a global stage seems to be fracturing. I’m afraid we might arrive at a two tier system. One in which the people paying attention will successfully maneuver through it, while those who don’t might get stuck in the social media algorithms and Mark Zuckerberg’s Metaverse.
I’m trying to help people to see this, so that more of us can be prepared for what is coming. For this reason I’m starting a “Making sense” section in my website in which I plan to add all the resources I’m using to understand what is happening. All the books, podcasts and content that helped me in one easy to find location. I’ll try to add some information about it and my own key takeaways.
